Gogo Ekhaya Esima is an initiated healer in the Sangoma tradition of South Africa. Based in the USA, Gogo Ekhaya completed her primary practicum in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and support with the Psychedelic Institute of Mental Health & Family Therapy in 2022.

Gogo Ekhaya is a peer recovery specialist trained in trauma-informed practices and blends these techniques with shamanic healing and plant medicines for a holistic approach to mental wellness. In her work she addresses the importance of ancestral healing, a supportive community, and other integral aspects of traditional African life and values that are specific to the healing process of our collective consciousness and liberation.

Gogo Ekhaya is part of the faculty in the California Institute of Integral Studies certificate in Psychedelic Therapy & Research, and the Esalen Institute. She completed her primary practicum in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy & Support with the Psychedelic Institute of Mental Health & Family Therapy in 2022 as part of a cultural exchange with the Makhosi Foundation.

Gogo Ekhaya currently works in service as a full-time traditional healer in Southern California.
