The Importance of Psychedelic Practice and Experience for Mental Health Practitioners
This past summer I completed a 12-week therapeutic ketamine journey practicum and supervision with Psychedelic Institute of Mental Health and Family Therapy. I am excited to share my experience with you!

Psychedelic experiences elicited by medicines including ketamine, as well as by non-medicine practices, assist psychotherapy which includes thoughtful preparation, support, and integration based on a wisdom approach, such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Psychedelic practitioners throughout cultures and throughout time have the depth and breadth of personal experiences to best support the humans who recognize them as experts in their communities. In modern terms, specializing in psychedelic medicine experiences as an adjunct to psychotherapy implies a certain level of training followed by supervised practice in an apprenticeship with ongoing mentoring, study and accountability.
